Education - What is It?
Tony Blair has banged on about education for those and made a huge statement using these damning words ‘education, education, education‘. It is extremely easily said and perhaps understood by some but doesn‘t this differ from one individual to another and from society to society?

There are lots of issues involved defining the word education. Generally speaking, is described as going to school, then college or university and thereafter getting a job. Obviously, passing of exams reflects how clever a person is. However, do exams reflect how intelligent a person is or have we as a society attached a label into it? It needs to be noted that some individuals are ‘academically‘ bright. With this, I am talking about they may be enthused by learning theory at schools and focus a hardship on exams and then pass getting pretty high grades. However, it must be delivered to attention that academically intelligent people may lack intelligence in other fields. Perhaps you have thought of that? For example, someone who gets high grades for exams might possibly not have the social skills necessary for the ‘real world‘. So doesn‘t this suggest that the studies were a waste of time? Can we need to study very hard and obtain a‘s and b‘s to obtain the title ‘intelligent‘? After all, if we take a look at historical figures, did each goes to school? Did inventors start like this. Fundamental essentials questions we have to ask ourselves.

Personally, as a student at postgraduate level, We have met many individuals from around the world. From this experience We have found that the way intelligence is measured within this modern society is one thing to be concerned about. From medical doctors to cleaning staff, I have met an array. Using this, I can conclude the way intelligence is measured in society is worrying. People with degrees will work in areas which has no relevance for their area of interest and individuals are constantly being employed for reasons apart from their academic qualifications. Therefore, are educational institutions preparing us for the big bad world? A response we could get from considering what is happening around us. Personally, i believe that ‘intelligence‘ is measured inside the wrong way. All things considered, academic qualifications are purely based on gaining a title which sticks with wherever we go but the brain are continuously picking up information, ideas, where ever you look..from people we meet and engage with. Furthermore, countries and then there is no formal institution to show doesn‘t mean how the folks that society are uneducated but perhaps more educated since they need to gain skills without the type of guidance from ‘so-called‘ professional bodies which, let‘s be honest, aren‘t always probably the most brightest.
